Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks and Breaded Mushrooms

I was asked by Farm Rich Snacks to create a easy recipe for holiday entertaining using one of their ready to use, delicious appetizers. Their Breaded Mozzarella Cheese Sticks are one of my favorites so I knew right away I wanted to use them. Cheese and cranberries were made to go together in my opinion so I came up with a cranberry orange dipping sauce to dip the cheese sticks into. Look for Farm Rich appetizers in your grocers freezer aisle. Farm Rich even has some coupFarm Rich Snacksons for you to help with your holiday entertaing.get $1.50 off 2 Farm Rich snacks

This cranberry orange dipping sauce is so easy to make. Wash and rinse the cranberries, then put them in a pan. The cranberries should be firm and not mushy. Did you know that cranberries are also known as bounce berries? Try dropping one a firm surface and they bounce! That also tells you if they are fresh. Add the orange marmalade, jalapeno, sugar and water. (if you don’t like a little heat, skip the jalapenos) Heat until it thickens and the berries pop. Cook for another 5 minutes over low heat. You can make the sauce in the time it takes to bake the mozzarella sticks and mushrooms.

Now that we have all of the ingredients needed for a party, here are a few of my favorite party tips.

When planning an appetizer party, plan ahead of time for what dishes you will be serving everything in. Lay them out where you will be serving. If you do this in one the days leading up to your party it is great to know that you aren’t going to be searching at the last minute for Aunt Susie’s dish she gave you last Christmas. If you don’t want to leave the dishes out, use a post it note and place it in place of the dish or draw a diagram on a piece of paper. This also helps so that someone else can take the plates out to be served and they know exactly where you want the dish to go. Think outside the box for serving pieces, a piece of tile or slate makes a great serving dish. Use a marker or chalk and write a message on it.

Make sure to use small plates for portion control. Big plates can mean a lot of wasted food.

Happy Holidays!
