Hawaiian Toast with Custard Sauce

2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 tbsp. honey
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter, softened
6 slices bread
¾ cup finely crushed corn flakes
6 pineapple slices, drained
2 oranges, peeled, sliced
Custard Sauce (recipe below)

Combine first 5 ingredients in bowl, beating slightly. Spread butter over 10x15x1 inch baking dish. Dip bread in egg mixture; drain. Coat with crumbs. Place in buttered dish.

Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes; turn. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until crisp. Top each slice of toast with pineapple and orange slices and ½ cup Custard Sauce.

Custard Sauce

1/3 cup honey
2 tbsp. flour
½ tsp. salt
2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. grated orange rind

Combine first 3 ingredients in bowl, blending well. Stir in milk, mixing well. Cook over low heat until smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Beat eggs and orange rind in small bowl. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into eggs. Add eggs to hot mixture, stirring constantly. Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
