Parker House Rolls
1 1/2 C. milk
3 T. sugar
1 t. salt
1/2 C. melted butter
2 cakes yeast
1/2 C. lukewarm water
5 to 5 1/2 C. flour, may use a portion with whole wheat flour
In saucepan, melt butter; add milk, sugar and salt and heat through. Let cool.
In a mixer bowl, dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water. Then add milk mixture and dry ingredients. Mix and knead until smooth.
Let rise, about 30 minutes until doubled in size. Form into rolls. Let rise again, about 30 minutes. Bake in a 400°F. oven for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 3 dozen rolls.
