Chocolate Turtle Brownie Dessert
1 package (14 oz.) caramels
2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
1 box German Chocolate cake mix with pudding
1 C. pecans, chopped
3/4 C. margarine, melted
1 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler or in microwave.
Mix together cake mix, nuts, margarine and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Pat down two-thirds of the dough into a greased and floured 9×13-inch pan.
Bake in a 350°F. oven for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Drizzle melted caramel over chips. Drop remaining dough by tablespoonfuls over the top. Continue baking for an additional 20 minutes, or until done. Cool completely. Cut into squares.
Yield: 2 dozen.
