Easy Marinated Mushrooms

1 lb. medium size mushrooms

3/4 cup salad oil

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon peel

1 teaspoon crushed dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Wash mushrooms under cold running water; drain well. Cut lengthwise through stems and buttons into 3 or 4 slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Place in resealable bag or glass dish.

In a small bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, lemon peel, oregano, garlic salt and pepper. Pour mixture over mushrooms.

Seal bag or cover dish and marinate several hours in refrigerator, turning bag or stirring occasionally.

Drain before serving.

Makes 6 to 8 appetizer servings
