Old Fashioned Sponge Candy
1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup, dark
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon soda
Combine sugar, syrup, and vinegar in heavy sauce pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Then cook to 300° F. or crack stage. Remove from heat, stir soda in quickly, mixing up. (it will become frothy) Pour into buttered pan. Cool and break into pieces.

T is tablespoon and the little t is teaspoon. That’s how my mom wrote out her recipes so I do it now that way. I never realized how confusing that could be until after I did it this way on this site. Sorry for the confusion!
