Grandmother’s Oatmeal Cookies

2 eggs, beaten

1 t. salt

1 C. raisins

2 C. flour

1 t. vanilla

1 t. baking soda

1 C. butter

1 t. cinnamon

1 C. brown sugar

2 C. oatmeal

1 C. granulated sugar

1/2 C. chopped walnuts (optional)

Combine eggs, raisins, and vanilla. Let stand for 1 hour.
 
Thoroughly cream butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt.

Sift flour, baking soda, and cinnamon into creamed mixture.

Blend in eggs, raisins, and vanilla mixture with oatmeal.

Dough will be stiff. Spoon onto cookie sheet.

Bake at 350° F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until light brown.
