Turkey Philly Sandwiches
2 t. butter
1 C. thinly sliced onion
1 C. thinly sliced green bell pepper
1/4 t. black pepper
3/4 lb. thinly sliced deli turkey breast
4 (2 oz. each) sandwich rolls
4 (1 oz. each) slices low-sodium mozzarella or provolone cheese
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
In a large nonstick skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper; saute 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Stir in black pepper.
Divide the onion mixture and turkey evenly among the bottom halves of the rolls; top each serving with a cheese slice. Cover with top halves of rolls.
Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Makes 4 sandwiches.
