Barbecued Mini Meatballs
1 pound hamburger
1 egg
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup milk
1 clove minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
2 tablespoons oil
12 ounces chili sauce or ketchup
8 ounces grape jelly
1 1/2 tablespoons dijon mustard
In large bowl, combine extra lean ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, milk, garlic and chili powder; mix well.
Shape into about 45 1-inch balls.
In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until oil sizzles, about 1 minute. Add meatballs. Brown on all sides.
In small bowl, combine sauce ingredients. Add to meatballs. Stir gently to coat meatballs. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cook covered until meatballs are done through and through.
You can put them in a crockpot and cook on low until ready to serve.
Makes 11 to 15 servings (3 to 4 meatballs per serving)
