Applesauce Cake
1/4 C. butter, softened
1 C. granulated sugar
1 C. unsweetened applesauce
1 t. baking soda
1 C. chopped raisins
1 C. chopped nuts (your favorite)
1 t. ground cinnamon
1/2 t. ground cloves
2 C. all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350° F. Butter and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar gradually.
In a separate bowl, combine applesauce and baking soda; add to butter-sugar mixture. Add raisins, nuts, cinnamon, cloves and flour. Batter will be thick. Pour batter into prepared pan; bake 40 minutes.
Makes 12 servings.
