Cube Steak Stew

2 pounds round steak or cube steak
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
6 medium potatoes, cubed
6 medium carrots, cubed
1 cup frozen peas
8-oz. can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili pepper, black pepper, to taste, if desired

Pound steak and cube. Roll in seasoned flour. Brown in shortening with chopped onions and peppers. Place into large Dutch oven.

Pour in sauce with 2 cans water.

Add potatoes, carrots, and peas. Cook slowly until tender, about 1 hour.
