Boardinghouse Chili
1 pound lean hamburger
1 diced onion
3 cans tomato soup
2 cans dark kidney beans with their liquid
1 t. garlic salt
1 cup water
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
2 t. parsley
1/2 t. pepper
1/2 t/ oregano
2 t. chili powder
Brown hamburger and onion until well browned. Add everything else.
Simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
This is not too zippy, as some of my tenants are prone to heartburn. Serve with additional chili powder for everyone to season it to their own delight.
