Apple Torte Dessert

Crust:

1/2 C. margarine

1 1/3 C. sugar divided

3/4 t. vanilla divided

1 C. flour

Filling:

8 oz. cream cheese softened

1 egg

1/2 t. cinnamon

4 C. apples peeled and sliced

1/4 C. sliced almonds

Cream margarine, 1/3 C. sugar and 1/4 t. vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and sides of a 9 inch springform pan.

Combine cream cheese and 1/3 C. sugar. Mix well. Add egg and remaining vanilla. Pour into pan.

Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Spoon mixture on top of cheese layer. Bake at 450°F. for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400°F. and bake 25 minutes. Cool.

Serves 8 – 10.
