Bavarian Apple Torte

3/4 C. butter
1/2 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
1/2 t. vanilla extract
16 oz. cream cheese (softened)
1/4 C. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 t. vanilla extract
3 C. tart apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
1/2 C. sugar
1 t. ground cinnamon

Combine first four ingredients. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9-inch spring form pan.

In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese and sugar.

Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Pour over the crust.

Mix apples, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Spoon over filling.

Bake at 350°F. for 55-65 minutes or until the center is set. Cool on wire rack.

Refrigerate until served.

Makes 12-14 servings.
