Cajun Whole Wheat Bread

1/3 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup chopped green pepper
4 teaspoons chili oil or cooking oil
1 1/2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons honey or mild-flavored molasses
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup bread flour
1 tablespoon gluten flour
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

Select the loaf size. In a small saucepan cook the onion and green pepper in hot oil until onion is tender. Stir in the Cajun seasoning; cook for 30 seconds more. Cool mixture slightly.

Add the ingredients to the machine according to the manufacturer’s directions, adding the onion mixture with the milk.

If available, select the whole grain cycle, or select the basic white bread cycle.
