Never thought of doing a savory monkey bread, but it looks like a delicious way to feed a crowd.
Mary Ellen says
Hi Sarah, I didn’t think of it. Food Network did but they used frozen bread dough. I decided to do it my way and came us with this recipe from their idea.

This looks so yummy! Perfect bread to serve to company – it’s beautiful.
Mary Ellen says
It is very good and I have about decided it could even be made a day ahead and reheated. It was amazingly good the second day.
Krista @ joyfulhealthyeats says

Thank you for sharing on the Four Season Blog Hop – I may have sent two comments. I got so excited about the recipe I forgot that I was on here to also thank you for sharing. Anyway, in case you didn’t get the first message I just love this concept and think they are very pretty! I also really like your recipe and tip on parsley.

Hi Terri, thanks for your comment. The parsley tip is an old restaurant trick we used to do, we’d wrap in clean towels because we did so much at a time. It definitely works! It can keep fresh almost a week that way.
Kelley says
This seriously looks amazing!! I have not ventured into bread making yet but I may have to just to make this monkey bread! YUM!
Thanks for linking up to the life of the party! Im featuring this on my Facebook and Twitter pages tomorrow! 🙂

Thanks for inviting me! It was delicious and with the egg bread it was even still good 2 days later.

I pinned this. I have been wanting to make monkey bread and the fact that it is savory makes it all the more appealing. Love that you did not use frozen – those preservatives get to me.
Mary Ellen says
Thanks, and thanks for pinning. Frozen works but homemade is so much better.
Joybee says
I love this idea. I’m already thinking about how to make it my own. I think rolling the garlic butter dipped dough balls in Parmesan and parsley would make a fantastic garlic bread monkey bread. I love your parsley tip too. Thanks for sharing with us at Great Idea Thursdays 28. You are being featured.
Mary Ellen says
Thank you for the feature. OMG… it’s Thursday. I shall be right over. I just tried to leave you a comment and couldn’t figure out how to do it. So I pinned your beef sandwich twice!

That looks so good. My husband likes to make bread while the kids and I love eating it! I can’t wait to try the combination of our favorite garlic and butter with the herbs. Pinning it for hubby to make. Lol.

Where’d you find him? LOL….
Christina @ Juggling Real Food and Real Life says
Hi there. Stopping in from the Let’s Get Real party. I was excited to see your herbed monkey bread. I usually see it coated in sugar (which tastes good) but this is certainly a nice twist on that. I look forward to reading more.
Mary Ellen says
The idea came from Food Network, I thought it was brilliant. They used frozen dough and I wanted to make the bread since I love making bread.
Krista says
I love this bread! All the fun different herbs for each roll and the garlic butter, yum! Gotta love Food Network 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with me @ Great Idea Thursday’s! You will be featured this week 🙂
