Hot Chili Beans
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 C. finely chopped onion
1 T. prepared mustard
2 T. chili powder
2 t. garlic salt
1/2 t. cumin
1 t. crushed red pepper
1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes, chopped with juice
2 cans (16 oz. each) pinto beans
1 bottle (14 oz.) ketchup
Brown the ground beef in a pan and cook over medium heat. Add the onion and cook with the beef until the onion is soft.
Add all the remaining ingredients. Stir to mix well. Turn the heat to low and simmer for about 1 hour, uncovered. Stir now and then.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serves 6 – 8.
