Barbecue Roast

Barbeque Pot Roast

 1 small can tomato sauce

1/2 C. beef broth (can be made with 2 or 3 bouillon cubes)

1 medium onion chopped

1/4 t. paprika

1/4 t. garlic powder

1/4 t. salt

1/4 t. black pepper

1 beef roast

1/4 C. vinegar

1/4 C. catsup

3 T. prepared mustard

1/2 C. brown sugar packed

3 T. Worcestershire sauce

1/2 C. oil

Stir together the tomato sauce, broth, onion and seasonings. put all in a deep baking dish add the roast turning to cover both sides. Cover and put in refrigerator to marinade for as long as possible over night is better.

Remove roast and brown in a large dutch oven in the oil on both sides. Add the vinegar, catsup, mustard, Worcestershire and brown sugar to the marinade.  Pour over the roast. Cover and simmer on low for 2 to 3 hours until done or bake at 350° F. for 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours until done.
