No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake

1-1/2 Cups (9 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips

2 pkg (one 8-oz. one 3-oz.) cream cheese, softened

1/4 C. sugar

1 carton (8 oz.) frozen whipped topping thawed

1 (9″) chocolate crumb crust

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler, stir till smooth.

In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese and sugar.

Beat in melted chocolate and whipped topping at low speed.

Pour into pie crust and cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

    Is this a variation on the 2006 recipe “Chocolate Velvet Cream Cheese Pie” that I printed from this website? I have to say I got all sorts of compliments on that one today at work.
    This one seems a bit more cheese cake, and a little less chocolate?
