Blue Cheese Potato Gratin
4 large baking potatoes (about 2 1/2 lbs. peeled and sliced)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons finely minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
8 ozs. crumbled blue cheese
2 slices white bread crumbs
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Combine potatoes, cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, nutmeg and half of the blue cheese in a large saucepan. Simmer 5 – 7 min, stirring occasionally.
Spoon into 8 by 8 by 2 inch baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and crumbs.
Bake in 350° F. oven 35-40 minutes, until potatoes are fork-tender and top is brown.
