Molasses Butterballs

  • 1 Cup butter
  • 1/4 Cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 Cup molasses
  • 2 1/4 Cup flour
  • 2 Cups finely chopped pecans
  • confectionery sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl beat butter until soft. Add brown sugar and molasses and beat until fluffy. Add flour, salt and beat until well blended. Stir in pecans.
  3. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 18 - 20 minutes.
  4. Roll in confectionary sugar while still hot.
