Nutmeg Sweet Potatoes

4 to 5 sweet potatoes

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 stick butter

1 1/2 cups water

Peel and cut sweet potatoes in 1 to 2 inch pieces. Place in heavy sauce pan and sprinkle sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon over top. Add butter (cut up) and add water.

Bring to boil then reduce heat so potatoes only simmer. Need to check frequently and move potatoes around so they won’t stick. Cook till tender and liquid is syrupy.

Remove to casserole dish and top with marshmallows. Brown in hot oven.
